Fern Esau of Victoria B.C. passed away on February 2, 2016 in her 62nd year.
Fern was born in the Baudette hospital on March 25, 1954 to the late Ann (Kreger) & Bill Esau of Victoria B.C. where her father was a school teacher.
She was married to Al Walker and had 3 children, Natalie, Harrison & Tyler. She later remarried to Larry Quagliatti (later divorced) and had one daughter Anglena. All family resides in Vancouver Island, B.C.
She will be missed by her family; brother Corwin & family of Edmonton, AB; Aunt Elsie & Uncle Bob Ewald & family; Margaret & (Audie) Kreger & family and many Kreger cousins in Rainy River area.
Fern loved sports; swimming, biking & running. She did many races in these sports also in triathlon. Swimming the Alcatraz Channel (California) and twice coming in second.
She also liked to travel to many countries for sports and won many medals.
In September she was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in its fourth stage. Although she took treatments (which didn’t work) she ended up with two strokes etc. Though she tried hard, it wasn’t a race she could win.
