MARGARET “PEGGY” LARSON
SEPT. 29, 1937 - JUNE 18, 2004
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Margaret Larson on June 18, 2004 at her home in Kenora, Ont. at the age of 66. She was born in Burriss, Ont. to the late Norman and Christine Steele. Peggy married Henry Larson in 1953 living in the area of Fort Frances and Emo they moved to Kenora, Ont. in 1956 and raised their family.
Peggy was a wonderful cook who enjoyed nothing more than trying new recipes. She enjoyed doing crafts, knitting and crocheting. She was also a talented seamstress. Peggy worked as a Red Cross Homemaker for many years in Kenora. She was a hard worker, and took great pride in her home and family and the things she could do for them, no matter how big or small.
Left to mourn her passing are her children: Clarence (Karen) Larson of Kenora, Leonard Larson of Thunder Bay, Glen (Susan) Larson of Kenora, Brenda (Mike)Berry of Dryden. Her 8 grandchildren. Sisters Jean (Wes) Hayes of Crozier, Gladys Desserre of Emo, LaVerne (Ken) Desserre of Stratton and brother Bill Steele of Atikokan as well as numerous other relatives. Sister-in-law’s Adeline Steele, Helen Steele, Luva Steele, Jean Steele, brother -in-law Lorne Golding and families. Margaret was predeceased by her father Norman in 1947 and mother Christina 1993. Brothers Gary, Robert, Don, Norman and her sister Lyla.
A memorial service was held Friday, June 25, 2004 at 2 p.m. at Emo Legion with Barbara Miller officiating. Cremation has taken place. Interment of ashes will be held at a later date. If friends so desire, donations to a charity of one’s choice in Margaret’s Memory.
