There will be two meet the candidates meetings held within the next week.
This Sunday, October 29th Lake of the Woods candidates will meet with the public at the Bergland Hall at 3 p.m.

The Rainy River Federation of Agriculture (RRFA) celebrated its 30th Anniversary Saturday evening with a dinner and dance at the Stratton Millennium Hall.

Police warn public to beware of wildlife on roadways

(Fort Frances, Ontario) In the early morning hours of October 21st, officers from the Fort Frances Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police arrested a male driver in the 900 block of Eighth Street West. Kelly Calder, age 44, of Fort Frances has been charged with Operation of a Motor Vehicle with a Blood Alcohol Concentration over 80 Milligrams.

Elementary runners brave the bad weather in Baudette

The future of the Lake of the Woods-Rainy River Cross Country program looks bright, as 24 4th ˆ 6th graders (and a few younger ones) spent five recent Wednesdays afternoons learning basic running and stretching skills. The elementary program ended Oct. 11 with a one-mile race on by far the coldest and windiest day of the season.
