Olga Annie Gosnell, 70

It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected death of our wife
and mother, Olga Gosnell (nee Kolisnyk) at her residence on February 21,
2004. Olga was born on November 23, 1933 in Stuartburn, Manitoba, the
youngest daughter of Michael and Annie Kolisnyk.
She was predeceased by her parents, Annie and Michael Kolisnyk and brother
Bill Kolisnyk.
She was married March 6, 1958 to Scott Gosnell. They resided in the Rainy
River area primarily on the family farm. In subsequent years they moved to
Sleeman. Olga was employed for eleven years as a Red Cross Homemaker. She
retired in 1989.
Olga loved her family dearly and placed them as her foremost priority in
life. She was an avid gardener, and will be fondly remembered for her
beautiful flower beds and large vegetable garden. She enjoyed nature and all
of God’s creatures; especially birds. Olga spent countless hours engaging in
her favorite pastime of crocheting and shared her handiwork with family and
friends. Olga was a kind and compassionate woman who always had time to give
of herself be it a favorite recipe, flowers, a home-cooked meal, produce
from her garden or just to show her love and concern.
Olga will be dearly missed by her husband Scott of Sleeman, Ontario, her son
Tim of Sleeman, Ontario and her two daughters Anna and Kimberley of Thunder
Bay, Ontario.
Memorial services were be held on Wednesday, February 25, 2004 at 2 p.m. at
Knox United Church in Rainy River, Ontario with Pastor Pat White
officiating.
Cremation took place at Riverside Crematorium in Thunder Bay, Ontario and
interment in Blue Cemetery will take place at a later date.
The honourary pallbearers were Manny and Idalina Ferreira, Jack Rattigan,
Jennette Cross, Bill and Rachel Korchak, Doug and Linda Bourre, Isaac and
Margaret Jensson, Frank and Pat Stoyka and Kenneth and Madeline Martin.
