Classic Country music coming to RR Aug. 4th

Four ladies in Rainy River decided to bring a musical experience to the community that many citizens will be able to relate to. Darlene Armstrong, Betty Blight, Lu Ricci and Jeanette Armstrong approached town council and the Rainy River Future Development Corporation about bringing Country Blend to Rainy River as a fundraiser.
Country Blend has five members in the group. It is comprised of two female singers, one male singer who also plays bass and rhythm guitar. and two other male musicians.
The two female singers do harmony in all the songs and three part harmonies when the male singer is singing. There are drums and acoustic pianno. The piano player is said to be fantastic. He has performed on the same stage with Bob Hope, Red Skelton, George Burns, and Myron Floren.
They perform the old "Classic Country" music. The group dresses in formal apparel and the volume is held at an easy listening level.
They perform music famous by Dolly Parton, Kitty Wells, Loretta Lynn, Jim Reeves, Johnny Cash, The Statler Bros. Hank Williams Sr., etc.
They will be in Rainy River for one show only on Aug. 4, 2010 at the new Covenant Church at 7 p.m.

All proceeds from the concert will benefit the Rainy River Library and RR Recreation Centre.
