RR to host fastball tourney this weekend

This weekend marks the Labour Day holiday and in Rainy River that means one thing. It is fastball tournament time!
The Rainy River Royals are playing host to their annual tournament at the Rainy River Recreation Centre/diamond.
Games will begin Saturday morning at 8:30 a.m. and will run all day and again on Sunday. RR Royal Mat Ashworth said, “We don’t have the schedule put together yet but finals are usually around 5 p.m. (Sunday).” Teams can still sign up by calling Ashworth at 852-4189 or email at rrdfl@yahoo.ca. They are hoping for eight teams.
Saturday night there will be their always popular $1,000 dance where ticket holders will have a chance to win $1,000 cash!
There will be a canteen and beer gardens run both Saturday and Sunday at the Rec. Centre. The public is invited to come out and watch some action packed fastball. There is no admission charge to watch.
