Frederick Andrew Engebretsen, 83

Frederick Andrew Engebretsen, age 83, of Blue Township, Ontario passed away peacefully on Tuesday June 22, 2004 at the Rainy River Hospital.
Fred was born on July 16, 1920 in Blue Township, Ontario to Hulgar and Clara Engebretsen. As a young man he joined the Canadian Army and served overseas during World War II. After the conclusion of the war he returned to Canada. He worked all over Canada as a welder. He worked hard all of his life and had received his papers for welding underwater, steamfitting and pipefitting. On April 4, 1970 he was united in marriage to Jean Fiddes and together they settled in Blue to farm. He enjoyed staying active and was proud of all the work he accomplished. Fred was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Major Hughes Branch 54. He was predeceased by his father Hulgar and mother Clara; three brothers and five sisters.
Fred leaves behind his wife Jean and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held on Monday June 28, 2004 at 2 p.m. at St. James Anglican Church in Rainy River, Ontario. Mr. Glen Armstrong will officiate with interment in the Blue Cemetery in the Township of Dawson, Ontario.
The pallbearers will be Charlie Johnson, Bill Lundgren, Carl Peters, Jack Rattigan, Peter Tiboni and Eltjo Wiersema.
