Alliance MP supports decriminalizing DWI

Dear Editor,
You have your facts wrong: a study by the RAND Corporation (a US research group) conclusively debunked the myth that marijuana leads to harder drugs.
Also, when you ask why the government, while decriminalizing cannabis, shouldn’t decriminalize drunk driving, he should be aware of Bill C-464. While the government hasn’t moved on this, Alliance MP Chuck Cadman has introduced a bill which would do exactly that for the first two drunk driving offences, and which, ironically, has the support of MADD, the anti-drunk driving lobby group. For the record, Cadman and MADD also oppose cannabis decriminalization. A strange stance, indeed.
