Library Week is Oct. 19-23
The Rainy River Public Library invites you to enjoy the sounds, tastes and sights of Ontario Public Library Week!
From October 19 to 23, the library will bring you special events to mark Ontario’s official library celebration.
The Borderland Orchestra starts us off with a charitable performance on Tuesday, October 19.
The performance begins at 7 p.m. at the Rainy River Recreation Centre.
Admission is at the door, and includes tea and dessert. Children under five are admitted free.
For Orchestra night, will also be holding our second annual Silent Auction.
Donations of auction items would be appreciated. Drop them off at the library until Friday, October 15.
The library will also host our annual open house on Thursday, October 21.
From 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., drop by for a free barbecue, coffee, tea, and juice.
Kids can try their hand at our coloring contest or challenge their friends to a Wii tournament!
Finally, we are pleased to bring back our pre-school storytime program.
This fall’s theme is “Read Around the World.”
Caregivers and children up to age six can join Assistant Librarian Michael Dawber for stories, games and crafts.
The program starts Saturday, October 23, at 11:00 a.m., and will run every Saturday at 11:00 until November 27.
Our storytime is free of charge, but space is limited. Please call the library at 807.852.3375 to register.
We look forward to seeing you during Ontario Public Library Week!
