Running for RR Town council: Susan Carpenter

Political/Community Experience:
President of Rainy River Figure Skating Club, President of RR Curling Club, President of RR and District Chamber of Commerce, Member of Rainy River Economic Development Committee (a committee of town council) and a former business owner (Susan’s Corner Store).

Why are you running for office?
I have the time and the interest in moving the town forward.

What do you think is the biggest challenge facing Rainy River?
A lack of economic opportunities and young people leaving for school and having no jobs to return to here.

If elected what do you plan to do about it?
Explore any opportunities that become available and work with entrepreneurs to locate here.

Do you have a plan or platform you are running on?
I plan to move the town forward and am willing to work hard toward this with the town’s best interest at heart and see it succeed.
