Record number of kids register for RR Figure Skating this year
The club’s annual Skate 4 Funds family skate night was held this past Sunday to kick off the 2010-11 season. With an all time high registration of 71 skaters, the ice surface was buzzing with activity. Skaters and family members hit the ice to join the fun and then socialize over a cup of hot chocolate afterwards. Thanks to the generous area residents, the skaters raised a total of $5300 to offset the cost of ice time, coaching fees and other related club activities.
With the increase in registration numbers, the board members have been working diligently to provide Head Coach Randi McCormick and the club’s volunteer Junior Coaches with additional coaching assistance. Skaters will work at advancing their skills on Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays until the season ends with the annual ice show in March.
