What a wonderful fall we have had!

If you are like me you spent as much time outside over the weekend enjoying the 60 degree weather in November!!!! Yes 60 degrees!
I could not believe how warm it was and still is this week! I still had annuals blooming in pots close to the house!
Well I had been waiting for them to die due to freezing but they kept hanging on. Finally I decided that with the long range forecast calling for it to turn cold this Saturday it was time to pluck them out and dump the dirt and put the pots away. But now the forecast has changed... it is now going to be in the mid 40s!
Once I finished all my fall cleanup and "get ready for winter' chores (stuff that I would normally have done a month ago) I decided to put up some Christmas lights. I do not remember ever putting them up in November and not having a heavy coat on or freezing my fingers!
I was in a t-shirt on Sunday!
Usually I get the lights out of the basement a few days before putting them up and try them in the house. Sit on the couch, watch t.v. and fix them or throw them out if that is not possible. That method keeps my exposure to the cold to a minimum. However, it was so nice I hauled many decorations and lights outside and worked on them there!
What a wonderful fall we have had!
I hope it continues right up until Christmas... then it can warm up!
–Until then, Ken
