Goose's plight has a lesson for us all

No one likes to see an animal suffer.
Over the past few weeks I tried a few times to get close enough to a goose at Hannam Park to get a photo of it.
Many people said they felt bad for it since its feet appeared to be tangled up in fishing line.
I finally managed to get a picture of it. It really is sad that it is suffering because of something that man left behind in the water.
I don't know if there is any way to catch the goose and cut the line off him. It seems as though the rest of his flock are hanging around because of him. It could spell tragedy for many geese if they do not head south soon.
While I do not know if we as people can do anything to help this goose and his group, the one thing we can do is staring us in the face.
Be sure not to leave any trash in the water. This is the first time I have heard of fishing line being a problem for water fowl. One of the biggest culprits are six pack rings.
Before throwing them out many people cut them with scissors so that birds feet and heads do not get tangled up in them, causing similar problems like the goose on page twelve of this week's paper.
–Until then,
