Rainy River District School Board Thanks Outgoing Trustees for their efforts in building a better education system in the Rainy River District.
The Rainy River District School Board would like to thank our trustees; Dan Belluz, Terry Higgins, Glenda Belluz, Marg Heyens, Ron McAlister, Judy Eluik and Gary Allen for all of their contributions over the past four years. Their hard work has helped the School Board to continue to focus on providing the best education possible for our students.
“We greatly appreciate the dedication and hard work on the part of each trustee, their combined effort has helped us to make a number of tough decisions and to make sure that our students came first,” said Dan Belluz, Chair, Rainy River District School Board. “I personally enjoyed working with the outgoing trustees and I wish each of them all the best in their future endeavors as they continue to make valuable contributions to their communities.”
School Board trustees play a key role in ensuring the effectiveness of education programs. They are responsible for providing oversight to ensure that resources are used efficiently, providing local representation, helping to engage the community and ensuring that our schools are safe, fair and responsive to the needs of our communities. School board trustees are the oldest form of elected representation in Ontario. Since 1807, generations of community-minded trustees have helped to make decisions on behalf of local publicly funded schools.
