(Fort Frances, ON.) – The Fort Frances Community Drug Action Team has investigated a number of drug related incidents throughout the Rainy River District during the 2010 calendar year. The OPP is pleased to provide the public an overview of the statistical results from OPP investigations. Officers hope that the information will bring awareness to our community partners and community members to demonstrate the prevalence and type of substance issues occurring in our area and the police response to such crimes.

Your OPP officers continue to work in conjunction with community partners to target substance misuse and drug related criminal activity throughout the Rainy River District. In addition to investigating criminal offences, officers work daily with various community partners to build awareness and educate residents about the prevalence of substance misuse. Through partnerships with the Opiate Task Force, Rainy River District Substance Abuse Prevention Team and teaching DARE in all fifteen schools within the Rainy River District, the goal is harm reduction and a safer community. Get involved and participate in drug abuse prevention, monthly meeting dates are available by calling your Community Services Officer.
The OPP encourage members of our communities to actively report substance misuse to your police officers. The Fort Frances Community Drug Action Team would like to remind residents should they have any information pertaining to criminal activity to contact Crime Stoppers. Crime Stoppers allow informants to remain anonymous and be eligible for a cash reward of up to $2000.00 if their information helps solve a crime.
