Young girl hurt in snowmobile accident
News Release
O.P.P.
As the snow continues to fall, members of the Kenora Detachment of the OPP would like to remind everyone to ride and drive safely on Motorized Snow Vehicles.
An 11 year old female remains hospitalized at the Heath Sciences Centre in Winnipeg in stable condition after falling from a snow machine and being struck by a machine following behind. The machine was being driven by another youth who was uninjured.
Snow machining is a fun outdoor activity suitable for the whole family but it is important to remember that they are powerful vehicles that can be very dangerous for inexperienced drivers. The Sunset Trail Riders are a group of dedicated volunteers who offer training courses for young people to learn how to properly drive a snow machine in a safe and fun manner. Contact them online at sunsettrailriders.ca to learn more about upcoming courses.
