Joseph Ronald Milliard, 80

Peacefully on Friday, January 14, 2011, at La Verendrye Hospital. Fort Frances, Ont, Joseph Ronald Milliard of Rainy River, Ont passed away at the age of 80.
Ron was born on October 25, 1930 to Roy and Anne Milliard. After graduation from high school, Ron worked for the railroad for a time before becoming a custom officer. Ron worked for Canada Customs in Fort Frances and Rainy River until retirement in Sept. 1991 after 34 years of service.. He enjoyed all sports, especially baseball.
Ron is survived by his brother Patrick (Donna) Milliard of Baudette, MN, nephew Tim (Janice) Milliard and their children Jonathon and Bryan of Sleepy Eye, MN, niece Patricia (Stephen) Czapiewski and children Zachary and Zoe of Rochester, MN.
Ron is also survived by cousins Alex McMillan of Quibell, Ont and Gail Hanford of Port Severn, Ont. and Francis of Thunder Bay, Ont.
Funeral mass will be held on Saturday, January 22, 2011 at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church, Rainy River, Ont at 11 a.m. with Rev. George Chojko-Bolec officiating. Pallbearers will be John Amundsen, Gary Armstrong, Don Gale, Cam Hanson, John Rossborough, and Dan Usiski. Honourary Pall Bearers will be John Laevens and Manny Nordin.
Interment will take place in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Rainy River, Ontario, at a later date.
