3G could be ready by mid-March

A major upgrade to cell phone services in the region has been delayed, but hopefully not for long.
A Tbaytel spokesman told the Record last week that crews are now testing the upgrades to 3G cell phone services in the Rainy River and Fort Frances areas.
In November the company announced that 3G services would be deployed to Rainy River and Fort Frances in January of 2011. However, January came and went and no 3G services.
The spokesman said that they are running a little behind schedule. “We are testing it right now and we hope to go live with it by mid-March!”
