Willie Waleye 5K run set for June 4th

Like Willie Walleye Day itself, The Baudette-Lake of the Woods Chamber of Commerce is excited to also be taking on the annual Willie Walleye Day 5K Fun Run/Walk! Plan to participate in the annual event on Saturday, June 4 at 9am.
The pre-registration period is now open. Registration forms can be picked up at all three Baudette area banks, the LOW Tourist/Chamber info center, LakeWood Health Center & LakeWood Clinic admissions desks, or can be obtained online at www.lakeofthewoodsmn.com by clicking on the “Chamber of Commerce” tab. Pre-registration closes on May 23, 2011. Pre-registration fee is $25.00 and includes a Willie Walleye Day button ($5.00 value) which will also get you registered in the drawing for Chamber Bucks and other prizes throughout the entire day!
All 5K Participants will receive a Willie Walleye Day 5K Tee shirt along with other gifts and will also be eligible for door prizes to be given away immediately after the run. A plaque will be awarded to the top male and top female finishers and medals will be awarded to the top three male and female finishers in seven different age groups. After-run snacks and refreshments will also be provided.
Participants may also register the day of the event for the same price, but anyone registering after the May 23 deadline will not receive the Willie Walleye Day button.
The Willie Walleye Day 5K Run/Walk is sponsored by LakeWood Health Center and the Baudette-Lake of the Woods Chamber of Commerce. Proceeds from this event will go into a special Willie Walleye Day fund to help carry on this annual “kick-off to summer” event!
