Town turns 100 Thursday

Come one! Come all!
The Town of Rainy River, once known as Beaver Mills, will be turning 100 years old this Thursday, January 1, 2004.
To mark the ocassion the Town will be hosting a New Years Levee from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Legion Hall.
A formal ceremony will see the community’s centurions honoured as well as community volunteers.
The Great Beaver will be named and unveiled.
The new mayor, Glen Armstrong will also give some birthday salutations and several dignitaries will be recognized.
A special Birthday Cake will will be shared with all who attend as well refreshments will be served.
All citizens, both former and current are welcome to attend this event and begin a year that surely promises to be a great one for Rainy River.
