Rainy River District Substance Abuse Prevention Team (RRDSSAPT) and Fort Frances Community Opiate Task Force have merged and will be combining their efforts to raise awareness and prevent substance abuse across the Rainy River District.
Lori Maki and Aimee Beazley, the co-chairs of the newly formed committee are pleased with the new opportunity to partner and move forward as a team. “There may have been some confusion that RRDSAPT would no longer continue, but we want to stress that we are still here and stronger than ever” stated Beazley. “We encourage our community partners or others who may be interested in our committee to contact one of us”, she added.
Lori Maki explains, “Coming together as one committee is a natural fit and an opportunity to share our knowledge and resources to further promote education and awareness of substance abuse and misuse in our communities”.
The RRDSSAPT meets monthly a La Verendrye Hospital. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Aimee Beazley at 807 274-8541 Ext 295 or Lori Maki at 807-274-4824. HYPERLINK “http://www.preventingtragedy.org/”www.preventingtragedy.org
