Rainy River Town Council held their regular monthly meeting Monday with a fairly light agenda.
The meeting began with the presentation of a Town of Rainy River Jacket to Cam Hanson as a retirement gift.
The balance of the meeting involved unanimously rubber stamping numerous motions with little discussion of any of them.
They included:
•To send Mayor Deb Ewald and Councillor Ashley Stamler to a regional airport meeting on May 12th with expenses paid in Fort Frances.
•The public school board received permission to pave Town of Rainy River property between the elementry and high schools as part of their parking lot upgrade.
•Three events, Railroad Daze (July 15-17), Labour Day Classic (Sept. 2-4) and RRWT (Sept. 22-24), were all declared Community Festivals.

•The town's annual contribution to the Rainy River District Vet Services Fund of $150.
•To send Mayor Ewald to the Manitou Fish Fry on May 20th with expenses paid.
•Authorized in kind contributions to the Relay for Life on June 24-25th and the closure of Little St. South that evening from 4 p.m. to 8 a.m.

•To send Mayor Ewald and Councillor Gord Armstrong to an Economic Planning Summit in Thunder Bay June 13-14 with expenses paid.
•Moved the regular June meeting of council a week earlier to June 6th since the Mayor and Gord Armstrong can not be present on the 13th.
