One Illinois man dead, one still missing after boat capsized on LoW

On Monday 23 May 2011 at 9:30 PM OPP received a complaint of overdue boaters in the Morson area on Lake on the Woods.
73 year old James WEALTHER from Addison Illinois and 69 year old Richard HERMAN of Peoria Illinois had gone out fishing in a 16’ boat. Police were contacted when the two had not returned to a friend’s camp before dark as expected. The OPP Marine Unit from Kenora was activated and attended the area to attempt to locate the boaters.
On Tuesday 24th May officers located the body of WEALTHER who had been washed up on shore of Village Island located south west of Morson. The boat had been located capsized in the area
Members from the OPP North West Region Emergency Response Unit, Marine unit and OPP Underwater Search and Recovery Unit are continuing searching the area in efforts to locate the second male.
