Libraries join forces

Rainy River – The Big Grassy River and Rainy River public libraries are joining forces!
Starting July 1, borrowers at each library will be able to use the other for free.
Until now, residents of Big Grassy have had to pay for a card at Rainy River, and Rainy River residents have had to pay for a card at Big Grassy.
"This is the beginning of a great partnership between Big Grassy and Rainy River Public Libraries," says Kitty Gale, Big Grassy First
Nation CEO/Librarian.
“This is great news for both communities,” says Rainy River Library CEO Michael Dawber.
“People who live in Lake of the Woods Township are close to Big
Grassy,” Dawber adds, “and I know they will appreciate having service close by – especially in the winter.”
Patrons of Rainy River who want a Big Grassy library card must first
show their Rainy River library card at Big Grassy.
In the same way, Big Grassy patrons must first show their current Big Grassy library card to get a free Rainy River library card.
Anyone without a library card must sign up at their home library first.
Everything borrowed must be returned to the library it was borrowed from. Rainy River books should not be returned to Big Grassy, or vice versa.
The Big Grassy River First Nation Public Library hours are posted on their web site: www.biggrassy.ca/library.
The Big Grassy FN library is located in Pegamigaabo School on Beach Road.
Hours for the Rainy River Public Library are posted at www.rainyriverlibrary.com.
The library is at 334 4th Street next to Service Ontario.
