Recently the entire student body at Riverview Elementary School gathered to honour some of their own.
Two choirs travelled to the Rainy River District Music Festival April 8th and came home with first place honours.
The grade 4-6 french class sang Tureves de Voyages and Chungle le temps. They scored the top marks of 84 for each of them to bring home gold!
The grade 2-3 class sang two english songs, The World is a Rainbow and The Lollipop Tree and scored 86 and 87 respectively to bring home top honours.
Three other students were recognized for their achievements. Ethan Swentik recently travelled to the regional science fair in Dryden where his project on Factors Effecting Electrical Output earned him third place.
Kam Kuzyk and Santana King were honoured for winning the right to go to the district speech contest, which Kam would go on to win (see related story in this edition). Both speeches were in french and around about themselves.
Participation ribbons were also handed out to all who entered Riverview’s science fair.
