“Alzheimer’s disease is quickly increasing within the Kenora and Rainy River Districts, affecting not only the individual with the disease, but many others that care for them. Statistics show that for every person with Alzheimer’s disease, ten to twelve others are directly impacted: family, friends, co-workers and neighbours.
There are currently over 1,000 people that have been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease or a related dementia in the Kenora and Rainy River Districts and we need to offer more support services for these families”, says Lynn Moffatt, Executive Director
