Fines handed out for night hunting

News Release
MNR
A Kenora man has been fined a total of $3,000 for hunting deer at night.
Marcel Brousseau pleaded guilty to night hunting and possessing an illegally killed deer. In addition to the fines, Brousseau is banned from hunting in Ontario for two years.
The court heard that on November 12, 2010, Kenora OPP officers were called to Essex Road in Kenora with a report of someone shooting a deer on private property. Brousseau was arrested on the scene. A Ministry of Natural Resources conservation officer conducted an investigation into the incident and determined that Brousseau had shot and killed a white-tailed deer during the night.
Justice of the Peace Roger C. McCraw Jr. heard the case in the Ontario Court of Justice, Kenora, on July 12, 2011.
