The Great Beaver Boat Race seemed to be a big hit for the crowd and participants alike on Saturday.
This event, part of the 16th Annual Rainy River Railroad Daze, was a warm up for next year’s 100th birthday party for Rainy River.
If the race was any indicator, next year the town should be just a hopping with activities.
Some events this year were very well attended, including the Cuts for a Cure which last year went virtually unwatched.
The parade was good, but seemed to be much smaller than usual. Let’s hope that next year every organization in the area puts a float in!
There was plenty for kids to do all weekend and a fair bit for adults of all ages.
The committee deserves a round of applause for their efforts and now the centennial committee has the ball in its court. They will be working feverishly over the next several months and will likely need help from many citizens. So when someone from the committee asks for your help, be ready to say yes.
A party is only as good as its hosts.
–Until then,
