Earl Hanson, 75

It is with deep sadness in our hearts to announce the peaceful passing of our dear husband, father and “grampa,” Earl Sander Hanson on July 18, 2003 at the age of 75 years.
Earl was born in Atwood Township of Rainy River on September 19, 1927. As a young man he ventured into many things such as trucking with brother Everett and working in the bush. In 1948 he met Rosa Kaus, the love of his life and they were married on July 14, 1950. Together they took over the very homestead where Earl had been born and raised and here they began their fifty-three wonderful years together.
Earl poured his heart and soul into his land raising beef cattle and the best potato crops in the area. He enjoyed watching hockey, playing crib, spending time with family and friends, eating Rose’s cookies and listening to her play the piano.
Earl was the true definition of a very honest, hardworking and modest man and he took pride in everything he did. It was no secret he felt his greatest success was his family and he lived every day of his life for them.
Earl will be sadly missed by his loving wife Rose and his five children and their families, son Cam (Sheila) Heidi & Sharleen, son Dwight (Sherri) Dwight Jr., Duane, Rachel, Jamie, Michael & great grand-daughter Amber-Lynn, son Bruce (Penny) Natasha & Tristan, daughter Heather (Brent) Brenley & Jaylene, and daughter Holly (Wayne) Jonah & Dyson.
Also surviving are brothers Everett Hanson (Irene), Dale Hanson (Jeannine), sister-in-law Nancy Hanson, and sister Vivian Hartnell (Fred) as well as many in-laws, nieces and nephews.
Earl was predeceased by his parents Hugo and Daisy, brother Ralph, sister Doris and daughter-in-law Carla.
If friends so desire to make a charitable donation in Earl’s memory, they may be made to the Riverside Health Care Facility. (Rainy River Hospital)

An Admirable Man
If a man is honest with others
And with himself…
If he receives gratefully and gives quietly…
If he is gentle enough to feel
And strong enough to show his feelings…
If he is slow to see the faults of others
But quick to discover their goodness…
If he is cheerful in difficult times
And modest in success…
If he does his best to be true to his beliefs…
Then he is truly An Admirable Man.
