Robert (Bob) Race, 72
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robert (Bob) Race. Bob was born Jan. 26 1938 to parents Ann and Bill Race. He grew up in Rainy River Ont, where he attended school and held his first job 25 as the local milkman. Bob held various jobs across western Canada, he finally retiring from Highland Valley Copper mine as a heavy equipment operator. He lived a good deal of his adult life in British Columbia, eventually settling in Kamloops B.C. Bob loved to hunt, fish and travel and returned to the Rainy River District just about every summer. Bob is survived by his wife and soulmate of 25 years Jean, Daughters Lorna Armstrong (Ray) and Debra Funk (Ronald) Step children Donna, Wallace, Darren McBurnie and Deanna McBurnie (Rob), brother Kenny Race (Jeanna) sisters Kay Roehling, Judith Miller, Carol Wolanicki (Stan) Janet Hughes (Dana), Rose Tiede (Rick), Valerie Race 12 beloved grandchildren and many nephews and nieces. He will be sadly missed by his family and numerous special friends. And last but not least his constant companion, his dog Lucky. There will be no services but donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation in Bob’s memory.
