Public Board to welcome students back to class Aug. 30th

The first day of school is an exciting time for children, parents, and school staff. Students will return to their classrooms on August 30, 2011, and schools of the Rainy River District School Board will open as of August 22, 2011 to prepare for the new school year, and to assist parents and students with the registration process.
Rainy River District School Board staff is especially pleased to welcome its kindergarten students to a full-day, every-day kindergarten program at North Star Community School and Robert Moore School. Full-day, every-day kindergarten at Robert Moore School will include an optional extended day program that will be provided in partnership with Fort Frances Children’s Complex. The month of September is often a transition month for many families. It takes time for the home-school routine to come together. The Rainy River District School Board is committed to working in partnership with parents and to having the best learning environments for students, where they have safe, effective and respectful learning experiences.

The Rainy River District School Board serves approximately 3,000 students each day at 12 elementary and 3 secondary schools. Supporting student achievement is the goal of close to 700 permanent and casual teaching and support staff who, in addition to the contributions of caring volunteers and community partners, provide the best opportunity for students to learn.
