About 90 kids participated in the annual RR KidSport RRWT Saturday.
As it was last year, the fishing tournament was divided into two age groups. 7 and under fished first for 30 minutes. Despite foggy conditions two fish were caught. Caden Day had a 13.5" walleye and Teria Forester reeled up a 18.5" northern pike.
Forester won the 7 and under division for catching the biggest fish. Day came in second.
Colby St. Pierre won for the Longest Cast.
Robyn Johnson won for the most interesting catch (a log).
In the 8 and over division the fog had lifted and that seemed to boost fishing over their hour long derby.
Fish were caught at one end of the floating docks and the end of the Big Dock.
Taya Hagarty started things off with a 15" walleye.
She would see her lead taken away a few minutes later when Lara Wood caught a 19" pike.
Then Liam Pearson bumped Wood out of the lead with at 21" pike.
But Hagarty was not to be outdone. She caught a second fish that was a 26" pike. She won the tourney, with Pearson and Wood coming in 2nd and 3rd respectively.
Winning "The Biggest Catch" was Patrick Vogan who reeled up a 9' log.
Victoria Lindal had The Most Interesting Catch. It was a clam colony.
Snag King and Queen awards went to Christian Tiboni and Kaylee Armstrong.
