Queen’s Park – Sarah Campbell was today officially sworn in as the new Member of the Provincial Parliament for the Kenora-Rainy River riding in a ceremony at the Ontario Legislative Assembly.

“I am deeply honoured to be given the trust of the people of Kenora-Rainy-River to represent and serve them here at Queen’s Park. This is an important day for my family, friends and supporters who have all given so much time and energy to elect me as a New Democrat MPP,” said Campbell this morning.

“Now the hard work really begins. I will be working tirelessly to stand up for the people of Kenora-Rainy River and to fight for new jobs, improved healthcare and a more affordable life for families across this province,” he added.

Sarah Campbell MPP was appointed earlier this week as Natural Resources and Aboriginal Affairs Critic in Andrea Horwath’s NDP Shadow Cabinet.

“I would like to thank everyone who voted for me to be their MPP, and I look forward to serving the needs, concerns and priorities of everyone in the riding. The New Democrat team will be working together and across party lines in this minority government, to strengthen our communities, build a stronger, fairer Ontario and protect ordinary families as we all face uncertain economic times,” said Campbell.
