Squirts take 2nd at Fort hockey tourney

The Lake of the Woods Squirt A Team nearly defended its title as Champions at the Fort Frances Canadians Atom AA Tournament Jan. 27-29 at the Ice for Kids Arena.
The Bears finished as Runners-Up to the Thunder Bay Norwest Stars, dropping the final 5-1. The Squirts beat Kenora, Dryden, Thunder Bay Elks and the Thunder Bay K.C. Sabres en route to the final. Over the course of the tournament, the team became fan favorites for their skill, hard work and determination despite having the smallest roster in the tournament.
The Squirt A Team hosts remaining games with Roseau, East Grand Forks and International Falls in February before closing out their season with the International Squirt Tournament in Fargo and District Tournament in Roseau.
