Poor ice conditions claim four lives

The Kenora OPP Detachment with the assistance of the OPP Underwater Search and Recovery Unit (USRU) has located the bodies of three missing people at Selkirk Lake. The bodies of 43 year old Dianne OTTO and 42 year old Chris MAINVILLE were located on Saturday, March 24th.
The body of 53 year old Edward EVERSON was located on Sunday, March 25th. All of the deceased persons were located in the water in the same area the body of Robert KANTIMERE was discovered on the ice on Thursday, March 22nd.
The Kenora OPP Crime Unit is continuing to investigate the incident.
The OPP is cautioning everyone to stay off the ice. Due to recent warm temperatures and rainfall ice conditions deteriorate very rapidly making for extremely dangerous conditions.
