Gladys Anderson

In loving memory of Gladys Anderson, age 88, of Fort Frances, Ont. who passed away peacefully at Rainycrest Home For The Aged on Sunday, September 9, 2001.

Gladys was predeceased by her husband Hjalmar on February 20, 1985, her parents Severt and Gena Braaten, siblings Mildred, Violet, Helen, Pearl, Arnold, Cecil, Solmon, and Alfred.

She is survived by her sons Herman and his wife Jeanette of Crozier, Ont. and Ronald of Lac Du Bonnet, MB; grandchildren Bradford Anderson of Flagstaff, AZ, Lisa Melnyk and husband Steve of Winnipeg, MB, Michael Anderson and wife Kim of Fort Frances, Ont., Delsie Lambertson and husband Erik of Devlin, Ont, Lana Schumacher and husband Bill of Wills Point, Texas, and Don Anderson and wife Val of Sioux Lookout, Ont; great grandchildren Rob Schumacher, Jody Anderson, Jason Perreaux, Ronald Perreaux, Eric Anderson, Joshua Anderson, Cyrstal Lambertson, Manny Melnyk, and Veronica Melnyk; and by numerous nieces and nephews.

Gladys was born on February 16, 1913 in Gameland, Ont. She was raised and educated there. She was united in marriage to Hjalmar in 1931 and together they raised their family in Gameland. Gladys worked at various camps in the area. In 1962 they moved to Saskatchewan where she worked for Admiral Appliances. She enjoyed gardening, plants and crocheting. Gladys loved cooking and was admired by her family for her baking talent. She was very family orientated and will be greatly missed.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, September 13, 2001 at 10 a.m. at Green Funeral Home in Fort Frances, Ontario. Pastor Robert Ek officiated with interment in the Bergland Cemetery.

Friends visited prior to the service. The active pallbearers were grandsons Michael Anderson, Don Anderson, great grandsons, Jason Perreaux, Ronald Perreaux, Eric Anderson, and Joshua Anderson.

The honorary pallbearers were grandson Bradford Anderson, great grandchildren Jody Anderson, Crystal Lambertson, Bob Schumacher, Manny Melnyk, Veronica Melnyk.
