It is with much sadness the Tymkin family announces the passing of their beloved mother Margaret Cecilia Patrica Tymkin of Thunder Bay Ont. Her passing occurred after a courageous battle with cancer at the Thunder Bay Regional Hospital in the early morning hours of March 30th 2012.
“Maggie” was born and raised on June 14, 1939 to Herb and Florence Read of Sudbury Ont. "Maggie" spent her early formative years as a resident in the Roman Catholic "Douville Orphanage, of which she always had fond memories.
Maggie married Edward Tymkin of Red Lake Ont July 2nd 1958. They moved to Hornepayne, Ont raising their young children and then settled in Rainy River. Here Maggie worked for a number of years at the local Rainy River Royal Canadian Legion Branch 54 where she made many acquaintances. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and helping others. She also enjoyed cooking, crocheting, reading novels and socializing. Maggie spent the last 12 years residing in Thunder Bay where much of her time was spent caring for a family friend.
She is survived by her husband Ed, her three sons Robin (Judy), Randy, Richard (Michelle), her grandchildren Ericka, Shelby, Cole, Zach and Aimee Tymkin, her brother Vince, her "big sister" Claire, her younger sister Gail, and her many nieces and nephews and her special pet Minou.
The family would like to express their gratitude for the compassionate care Maggie received from the nurses and support staff of the oncology ward at TBRHSC.
A special thank you is expressed to Dr. Kolabov for his diligence, his expertise and unwavering commitment in overseeing Maggie’s care.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday April 5, 2012 at 11 a.m. from the Northridge Funeral Home, Emo, Ont with Rev. Barb Miller officiating. Interment will take place at a later date.
