Theme for this year's Relay for Live is "Relay around the World"

Canadian Cancer Society Relay For Life gives you and your community the opportunity to celebrate cancer survivors, remember and honour loved ones lost to cancer and fight back against all cancers. This year, in Rainy River, we will celebrate, remember and fight back on Friday, June 22 at Riverview School once again. Can you believe this will be our third year relaying?!?
We are so excited to have seven teams officially registered online…and it’s only April! If you are a team captain, or thinking about entering a team this year, our committee will be hosting a team captain information session from 5pm-7pm at the RR Activity Depot (the old train station at the top of 4th Street) on Monday April 16. We will be having a drop-in barbeque, so please come hungry, and whenever you can make it during that time!! It should be a great way to welcome back our previous year’s captains and introduce our new captains to the camaraderie of Relay!
Here is what you need to know before you register your Relay for Life team:
Teams typically consist of 10-15 people representing families, friends, corporations or communities. To register online, you must use a valid credit card. The cost for each participant is $10 at registration. If you wish to pay by cash or cheque, please contact Georgia Kreger, our team recruitment chair, at 807-488-5778, to register offline.
If you create a team, you will become the Team Captain of this new team. You may designate someone else at a later time.
If you are registering additional team members, be ready with full contact information and a unique e-mail address for each before you get started, also be aware of their t-shirt size, as this is a requirement at registration.

Our theme this year is “Relay Around the World.” Each team is to choose a unique country to represent, so if one has been chosen, it is not available for another team to pick, and is based on first come, first pick basis. Register early if you have a certain country in mind. We currently have teams registered representing Mexico, Egypt, Sweden, Netherlands, and Canada to name a few!
