The Commission on the Reform of Ontario’s Public Service produced the Dr. Drummond Report, which identified sweeping reform measures aimed at increasing efficiencies with the Broader Public Service. The recommendations to the Government are being used to set the direction for cost cutting measures and the current Government will determine which items they will act on for the upcoming budget. Director Kelly stated, “The Budget is expected to be released in the last week in March and School Boards will determine their budgets and staffing compliments once the grants are tabulated.” “It is clear that the government intends for boards to carry forward with the Full Day Junior and Senior Kindergarten program,” stated Superintendent of Education, Al Cesiunas. Schools continue to take on registrations so we encourage families who wish to send their child to Junior or Senior Kindergarten next school year to consider registering your child soon.
Trustees reviewed and modified the Executive Limitations Governance Polices at its Regular meeting. Director Kelly noted that updated policies can be found on the Board’s website as well as Board Reports.
