Westover and Hoskins retire from CNR

Two Canadian National Railway employees will be joining the ranks of the retired last year with nearly 73 years of experience between them.
On Saturday friends and family gathered to congratulate them and celebrate their years of contributions at the annual CNR Retirement Party, held at the Rainy River Legion.
Cliff Westover worked as a Track Maintainer for 36.5 years. He hired on June 30, 1975 and officially retires this June 30th. He worked in Rainy River, Flanders, Mine Centre, Fort Frances, Red Rock, Kakabeka Falls, Tray, Wood Ridge and the Twin Cities.
Gord Hoskins worked as a Brakeman, Conductor and Locomotive Engineer. He hired on May 31, 1974 and retired with 36.33 years on Sept. 30, 2010. He worked out of Rainy River, Sioux Lookout and Fort Frances.
He was promoted to Locomotive Engineer on Jan. 1, 1980.
Another CNR employee, Al McIvor, was scheduled to be honoured at the party but was unable to attend.
