Relay for Life is less than three weeks away

The countdown is on!! With less than three weeks left until Relay Around the World, the Relay for Life committee is gearing up for another great event!
Our teams have been busy little beavers, collecting pledges, selling luminaries and organizing fundraising events to benefit the Canadian Cancer Society! If you see them out in the community, please consider supporting them and ask them… Why do you Relay? Most would love to share their story with you!
Currently we have 13 teams registered for Relay with over 160 participants! Because of the huge success of our first Relay, the CCS has set our standard high! CCS’s goal for Rainy River is 20 teams and $50,000 in funds, which includes participant individual pledges, team fundraising, luminary sales, Cuts for Cancer pledges, business sponsorships, etc.
Also, this year we have had a very strong response to donation requests, so we will have new participant and volunteer draws (from set up to take down) with prizes. It’s so important to recognize these people, as they are essential to the success of the event!
It’s not too late to join us! Join a team and start fundraising right away! If you can’t join a team there are other ways to support Relay for Life. Pledge a participant, purchase a luminary in honour or memory of a loved one who has experienced cancer, support the fundraising efforts of our local teams, or be a volunteer at the event. And don’t forget about the donation jar at Beaver Mills Market, with proceeds going towards the Survivor Supper and Participant Breakfast. Every little bit helps!!

Team Captains Meeting – Wednesday, June 13 @ 7pm
Bank Night – Tuesday, June 19 (scheduled times 4:30pm-7pm)
