Auxiliary plants flowers for hospital

By Irene Hanson
Twenty two members and two visitors attended our June Luncheon meeting, at the Roadside Restaurant.
We all enjoyed a very delicious lunch (thank you Debbie) and followed with a short meeting after.
The minutes were read and financial statement given. The Strawberry Social did very well, with a very nice turn out, as well as our 100 take outs. A big thank you to the community.
Bev Lang ner introduced Nicki Baird from The Riverside Foundation Board, who gave a presentation on purchasing a Digital Mammography machine to replace the one being used now. It would be much faster and more convenient, both to the patient and getting results. The cost is $650,000 dollars, and no grants or Government help is available, so as a district we are on our own. Some funds are already pledged and the auxiliary will donate $15,000 towards it.
There was no correspondence.
We are planting flowers around the hospital and several members did this on June 13th.
Nancy Schaak, a visitor, joined our auxiliary and will be helping Carla Books with the birds. Welcome Nancy.
Our next meeting is September 4, at the hospital at 1:00. You all have a good summer and we will see you in September.
