Benefit for Cindy Asselin planned

From the Asselin Family

A benefit is being held for Cindy Asselin of Rainy River.
Cindy Asselin (49 years old) was diagnosed with terminal esophageal cancer in January 2011. The doctor told Cindy that she had three to five months to live without treatment and six to ten months with treatment.
She has been through ten treatments of radiation, and three different kinds of chemotherapy. The first treatment of chemo had to be stopped due to blood clots in her left leg and in her arteries, the second chemo showed improvement in her cancer until her one month scan at which time they found that the tumor was bigger than before and the chemo had failed. Her third chemo produced no improvement.
In March 2012, Cindy was told there was no treatment left for her in Canada and that she should go home and enjoy the rest of her life, but Cindy isn't ready to give up! Cindy has sent her medical records to a handful of doctors around the world for treatment and was denied treatment at all but one, Dr. Issels from The Issels Treatment Centre, thinks there is still hope.
Now Cindy needs to travel to Santa Barbara, California for this treatment and has to get there as soon as possible. Cindy needs $38,000 plus for her treatments. We are praying that our family, friends and community will pull together and help Cindy keep the fight going!
Family and friends are having a Benefit dinner for her life. Please help us make this possible for her and join us for a great night of fun and food on Tuesday, July 17th at the Royal Canadian Legion in Rainy River from 6-9 p.m. Supper will be Lasagna and with a penny table and many other draws.
Meal deliveries are available for those who are unable to get to the legion.
