Fund-raising efforts continue for RR Locum House
With construction due to start within hours or days, the Rainy River Locum House is fast becoming a reality.
But the work isn’t over yet. With donations and pledges totaling $155,964 to date we are about halfway to our goal.
You can add your pledge or donation, including in memoriam donations at the Rainy River Town office. A charitable donation tax receipt will be provided for each donation.
Fund raising efforts will continue this RailRoad Daze week with a couple of events.
Local Seniors are putting on a Supper on July 20, Friday evening from 5:30 to 7:00 pm at the Senior’s Drop in Centre on Atwood Ave. The menu is hot pulled pork on a bun with salad and dessert. A Free Will offering is requested. So ‘Track on Down’
Pennies from Heaven has been organized by our own Nurse Practitioner, Nicole Therrien. Bring us those jars, bottles and flower pots of pennies (or other coins) that have been cluttering up your bedroom dresser for the last decades. Deposit jars with signs have been placed at businesses around town to accept those pennies. The Rainy River Drug Store has already had their first full jar and have rolled them up for deposit. After all Canada is discontinuing use of those coppers, so let’s make use of them while the getting is good.
