Shame on you who are ungrateful

Dear Editor,
This letter is being written with great dismay.
I grew up in the Rainy River district, and spent an ample amount of time in the Bergland, and Lake of the Woods township during my high school years. I have since moved on and lately I’m not to upset about it. I sometimes take a quick glance at the Rainy River Record via the Internet, and some of the letters to the editor in the past year have caused me some discomfort.
While in high school I attended many ball tournaments, and of course the notorious Bergland dances of the past. The ball tournaments, and activities that were offered during these times were something all my ball team and I waited for. We had a great time! As I read all the negative comments, and ignorance that is being spewed a bit of the old nostalgia disappears. All the equipment and buildings that have been built, and renovated stem from a group of volunteers that gave us as a youth pleasure in growing up in a small community. Who can say they took part in that?
I will close by saying “shame on the ones who are being ungrateful, and thank you to those of you who did so much for us, you will always be remembered!”
