Beckel and Kuzyk win 44th RR Open

Sunday, August 5th saw 20 golfers descend on the Spruce Creek Golf Course for the 44th annual Rainy River Open golf tournament. The weather was cool and breezy, and the course was in great condition. Foursomes were determined and action got underway at 9:30 a.m.
At the conclusion of competition, Dewey Beckel won the Men’s Champion flight with an 18 hole score of 85. Second place went to Kam Kuzyk who shot 86. Barry Lamoureux finished third in the championship flight with a score of 92.
Lorie Kuzyk took top honours as women’s champion.
In men’s first flight competition, Wes Big George took top spot, followed by Adam Bolen in second, and Greg Wilson in third.
The men’s second flight was won by Corey Langner, with Don Ricci coming in second, and Bill Langner and Wes Blight tying for third.
Event organizers extend their appreciation to all golfers for their participation. Thanks to Laurie Pentney and her staff at Spruce Creek for providing a beautifully prepared golf course and great hospitality.
