Public meeting dates on future of Stratton school set

The Accommodation Review Committee held its first meeting on February 20, 2013. The Committee reviewed the ARC process, accepted Anthony Leek as Chair and set the following dates for the Public Consultation Meetings:
Wednesday, March 20, 2013 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
Tuesday, April 23, 2013 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Wednesday, May 29, 2013 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Wednesday, June 19, 2013 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.
The Board invites parents, guardians, students, school staff, school council members and the local community to attend the Public Meetings in order to ensure an open and informed exchange of views. All public meetings will be held at Our Lady of the Way School. Details of the Public Meetings will be posted on the Board’s website, www.tncdsb.on.ca as the primary source of information.
The Accommodation Review Committee Voting Members are: Anthony Leek, Chair, Mark Hyatt, Mary O’Connor, Sandy Nielson and Jack Vandenbrand, Community Representatives and Tara Hunter, First Nation Representative, Rainy River First Nations. The Board representatives, and Non-Voting Members are, Mary-Catherine Kelly, Director of Education, Chris Howarth, Superintendent of Business, Darlene Fejos-Rousseau, Principal and Nicole Wood, Teacher. Board representatives will act as a resource to the committee.
Board Chair, Anne-Marie Fitzgerald, stated that, “If community members plan to make a presentation at the Public Meeting they are asked to follow the Terms of Reference and Invitation to Delegations Process that are posted on the Board website www.tncdsb.on.ca.”
Individuals or groups wishing to address the Our Lady of the Way Accommodation Review Committee (ARC) at its March 20, 2013 public consultation meeting may submit their intent no later than Wednesday, March 13, 2013 by email to: arc@tncdsb.on.ca.
