Spring gardening workship set for April 20th
By Joanne Kellner
LoW Garden Club
The Lake of the Woods Master Gardeners invites the public to an “Afternoon in the Garden” workshop on April 20, 2013, at the Brink Center in Baudette, MN. This no-charge workshop offers attendees the opportunity to learn how to get their plants off to a great start, how to identify and address invasive plants, how to get their produce ready for market, how to deal with climbers and scramblers, and a special opportunity to ask Master Gardeners their “questions.”
Presenters include Nancy Dunnell of Nancy’s Greenhouse, Becky Lein from the DNR, Lynda Annoreno from the Fresh Start Farmer’s Market, and Bonnie Schuh of the LOW Master Gardeners. The LOW Master Gardeners will hold a “question and answer” session at the end of the day.
Additional attractions include “Rustic Garden Art” for sale and door prizes. Doors to the Brink Center (one block south of Hwy. 11 on Main Ave. South) open at 12:00 noon. You are invited to bring a bag lunch to enjoy while you visit with the vendors and presenters. Coffee, lemonade, and cookies will be provided. The program begins at 1:00 with door prize drawings at 4:15 p.m.
