Irene Nordin, 91

Mrs. Irene Nordin passed away Saturday, March 23, 2013 at Thunder Bay Regional Hospital with her son Dennis by her side.
Irene was born January 29, 1922 to Ole and Selma Moen. She spent her early years in Morson Ontario, where her parents had a tourist operation.
She married George Nordin and they lived in the Morson/Fort Frances area until the early seventies when, with their son Dennis they moved to Thunder Bay.
Irene was very skilled with a needle and thread and had worked in Fort Frances as a dress maker. On moving to Thunder Bay she enrolled in the Health Care Aide program and was immediately employed at Hogarth Westmount Hospital where she worked until her retirement in 1990.
She is survived by her son Dennis, of Thunder Bay, her brother and sister-in-law Lloyd and Patsy Moen, of Morson, her grandson Darryl (Anna), great grand children Jeremy and Julia Calgary, Alberta and her good friend Linda Brigham, Fort Frances.
Irene was predeceased by her husband George, her parents Ole and Selma Moen, brothers Roy and Clarence and sisters Lorraine and Verna.
As Irene wished there will be no service.
Dennis has requested that anyone wishing to make a donation in Irene’s memory make it to Community Living Thunder Bay c/o Monty Park Centre.
