Rainy River Town Council held a Special Meeting last Thursday.
The first item on the agenda was a housekeeping matter to pass tax ratios. While it does not provide a final tax bill for residents, it is a step towards that goal.
“We will be bringing the budget forward at the June meeting,” said Town Clerk Veldron Vogan.
In the only other two matters on the agenda, council agreed to award a tender to engineering firm Hatch Mott MacDonald in the amount of $15,434 plus taxes, to do the engineering for the First Street waterline.
Council also agreed to hire Eugene Gustafson as the summer supervisor from May 27-Aug. 30, 2013.
The regular monthly meeting is scheduled for June 10th at 7 p.m. The public is welcome to attend.
